2016-2017 Music Program Schedule now available!

Mark your calendars and save the dates!

The 2016-2017 Lincoln grade level music program schedule is now posted on the Program and Concert schedule tab at the top of this page.  I'll be adding in the Band, Orchestra, and Chorus dates later this week so that you have a quick list of programs and concerts.

March 13, 2017: 5th Grade will be presenting a musical called Off Their Rockers, which takes place in a senior center.  It's a quiet place until the center director decides to bring in some music and dance to add some excitement to their lives.  Jill and Michael Gallina, Hal Leonard.

April 24, 2017: 1st Grade will present The Very Lonely Firefly, by Eric Carle.  This program will showcase what the students have learned in music class this year while telling the fabulous Eric Carle tale through music.

May 15, 2017: Lights! Cameras! Action! will be the 3rd grade musical this year.  It will showcase music from many movies we know and love (i.e. Shrek and The Polar Express).  The 3rd graders will take you on a musical journey through some of Hollywood's favorite children's' movies. John Higgins and John Jacobson, Hal Leonard

Welcome Back!!

Welcome back to the Music Room!  I am excited to share music class with Lincoln students again this year.  Students, get ready to dance, sing, move, read, create, perform, and play music when you come to see me in the music room.  I've attached a picture of the latest addition to the music room.  To know what it means, ask your child!  I'm sure they would be happy to tell you.

Check back here regularly for information about what's going on in the music room, program dates/times, chorus information, and links to activities your child can do at home.

Cheers to a great year!

Chicago Teams

On December 15, the Level 3 students will present

An Evening of Chicago Sports!

That's right- all of your favorite Chicago sports teams have fight songs or songs that are associated with each team.  The Level 3 students have been hard at work learning these songs to share with you on December 15th.

Our schedule for the night is as follows:

6:30 Performance: Students who have Mr. Bower, Mrs. Everett, Mrs. Harte-Naus, and Mrs. Vail

7:30 Performance: Students who have Mrs. Brennan, Mr. Klingberg, Mrs. Mason, and Mr. Pindar

Parents and students, please feel free to dress in your favorite sports team's colors and gear.  It doesn't have to be a Chicago sports team- any sports team will do!

If your student is looking to practice some of our songs, I have added some links to videos on YouTube for practice.

Let's Go, Go White Sox!
Bear Down!
Go, Cubs, Go!

See you on December 15!
